Textos Hibridos, a new electronic journal dedicated to the study of the Latin American chronicle from the Conquest to the present day, invites the submission of critical studies of the chronicles of Elena Poniatowska for a special issue to be published in 2012 in commemoration of the writer¡¦s 80th year. As one of a generation of journalists who revitalized the Mexican chronicle starting in the 1950s, As a cronista Poniatowska is best known for influential works such as Todo empezo el domingo (1963), La noche de Tlatelolco (1971), Fuerte es el silencio (1980), Nada, nadie: Las voces del temblor (1988), and the more recent Amanecer en el Zocalo (2007) and many more.
In addition to publishing articles demonstrating a variety of theoretical approches to her cronicas, we hope to take advantage of the e-format to include electronic media of any kind and with relation to Elena Poniatowska. Media should be original and previously unpublished and may include, but are not limited to any of the following:
-- INTERVIEWS
-- VIDEO OR AUDIO CLIPS
-- DIGITAL IMAGES
-- VISUAL ART
-- PROPAGANDA
-- MULTIMEDIA
-- PHOTOGRAPHS
-- ILLUSTRATED COMICS OR CARTOONS
