The European Union Center of Excellence/European Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh in cooperation with the European Union Studies Association announce a call for papers for the Seventh Annual Graduate Student Conference on the European Union being held March 30-31st, 2012 at the University of Pittsburgh. The Theme of this year's conference is "Crisis, Cooperation, and Change in the European Union." Submissions are welcome from all disciplines and on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, EU politics, governance, economics, history, security studies and institutions, and policies covering enlargement, immigration, development, trade, transatlantic relations, and foreign policy. Only authors enrolled in degree-granting graduate or professional programs are eligible to participate.
Abstracts should be 250-300 words in length and must be submitted on-line (with a current c.v.) between November 16 and December 16. The link for submissions and more information can be found at www.ucis.pitt.edu/euce/ or www.eustudies.org.
The University of Pittsburgh's library system houses one of the largest and most complete archives of primary and secondary documents on the European Union, dating back to the beginnings of the European Coal and Steel Community. Conference presenters are given access to the archive for research while in Pittsburgh.
