Twenty years after the I Conference of Researchers on Francoism (November 1992), that was also held in Barcelona, it is appropriate to assess the growth and evolution of the period's historiography and to evaluate as well the Conferences themselves –which have become a consolidated forum among the researchers.
The Conferences intend to promote the historiographic debate about the Francoist dictatorship and its era. On this occasion, the VIII Conference proposes to incorporate into the debate a comparative approach that takes into account other dictatorships and other societies. Thus, the VIII Conference aims to become the suitable forum for the presentation of unpublished researches and for further advances in the line of placing the history of Francoism in the international context.
The Conference will consist of three sessions where simultaneous workshops will be organized in order to discuss the papers and their related subject matters.
