Book Title: Mohammed in History, Thought, and Culture: An Encyclopedia of the Prophet of God (2 volumes), Fitzpatrick, C. & Walker, A. (Eds.).

Background: ABC-CLIO, a leading publisher in academic and reference publications, is in the process of compiling a comprehensive two volume Encyclopedia on the Prophet Muhammad and his impact on world thought and culture. On its completion, the publication will enjoy wide global circulation, particularly in North America and Europe.

The editors are seeking interested scholars to prepare 250-10,000 word entries with a global perspective. Entries should seek to identify how a specific concept, person, group, or ruling elite has been influenced by the Prophet Muhammad. Listed below are some of the entries to be included in the publication, but by no means a definitive list. The editors are particularly interested in thematic essay entries and would welcome any related proposals that are not included below. The publication has already attracted strong interest with contributors including some of the leading academics in the fields of Islamic and Near Eastern Studies.
