Applications for International Seminar on Decolonization Due November 1

The National History Center is accepting applications for its seventh annual International Seminar on Decolonization, to be held July 8 through August 4, 2012. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2011. Applicants should be historians who have received the PhD in the past five years or who will complete the dissertation during the year following the seminar. They may work on any aspect of the dissolution of empires in the 20th century. Fifteen scholars will be selected to participate. They must commit to being in residence during the entire four weeks. Travel to and from the seminar and housing will be covered by the Center. The seminar is hosted by the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress and funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
