This symposium marks the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Tippecanoe by creating an opportunity for multiple stakeholders to share what they know about the history of this site. Battle Ground Park and the events which have taken place there over the last 200 years ago are of interest to scholars, the local community, government entities, and numerous Native American communities. This symposium will shed light on: the circumstances leading up to the Battle of Tippecanoe, its role in the War of 1812, and the experiences of Native participants. The goal of sharing this collective knowledge is to improve and expand on collaborative efforts to interpret this and other extremely important historic sites in the area.
