The Institute of Caribbean Studies, of the Univ of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras (UPR-RP), invites the academic community and the general public to round table "Mujeres y género en Latinoamérica y el Caribe: Un homenaje a Helen I. Safa". Helen I. Safa, Professor Emeritus, Center for Latin American Studies, Univ of Florida, Dr. A. Lynn Bolles, Dept of Women´s Studies, Univ of Maryland, Dr. Alice Colón, Centro de Investigaciones Sociales, UPR-RP, Dr. Jorge Duany, Acting Dean, College of Social Sciences, UPR-RP, and Dr. Kevin Yelvington, Dept of Anthropology, Univ of South Florida will participate in the discussion. Dr. Jorge Giovannetti, Acting Director, Dept of Sociology and Anthropology, UPR-RP, will be the moderator. The activity will be held on Thursday, October 13, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. in Amp. Maldonado Denis (CRA 108) ,Faculty of the Social Sciences, UPR-RP.
