This is to announce the publication of the latest issue of the journal which can be accessed at:

It contains the eclectic mixture of ideas and positions that characterise popular entertainments with topics ranging from the Olympic Games to the hit television show "Glee," from Elizabethan theatre to blackface minstrelsy both in the 19th and 20th centuries, and including Kickapoo Indian medicine shows along the way.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS are open for Vol 3:1 of the journal, Popular Entertainment Studies, to be published in March 2012.

Expressions of interest are invited from scholars and scholar/practitioners to contribute to the next issue of the journal. We would be particularly interested in articles which address aspects of theatre and performance history, genres like pantomime, burlesque and musical comedy, biographies of performers, techniques of performance, crossovers between "high art" and popular forms within the historical and contemporary contexts. However, other topics of specialist interest are always welcome.

The cutoff date for the submission of final versions of articles is January 23, 2012.
