6th Annual Symposium dates: April 12th and 13th. This year's theme: Nature and the Natural in the Middle Ages. We will entertain 300 word abstracts on any topic from any discipline of Medieval Studies, but particularly welcome those that engage the theme of Nature, whether it be the visual representation, the written conveyance, or the spiritual philosophy of cnservation and ecology.
Our Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Jan Givens (UConn, who will speak on "Art History and the Wonders of Nature: The Case of the King's Elephant." This year's Symposium will be co-sponsored by the Dallas Area medieval Association (DAMA) and will be held on the campuses of Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas.
