It is with great pleasure that we announce the recent publication of the seventeenth issue of Intermédialités / Intermediality titled Reproduire / Reproducing and edited by Suzanne Paquet. The issue approaches reproduction from a variety of angles spanning the manuscript and engraving, photography and the technologies of digital imagery, as well as “reperformances.” It also presents the first installment of a debate sparked by Bruno Latour’s provocative analysis of the possible “migration of the aura” between an original and its digital reproduction. Furthermore, the issue features the digital montages of Paris-based artist Louise Merzeau, as well as an exceptional archival document: Harold Innis’s “The Coming of Paper,” the fourth chapter of the so-far unpublished manuscript of Harold Innis’s A History of Communications.
Our next two upcoming issues are Archiver / Archiving (Number 18, Fall 2011) and Synchroniser / Synchronizing (Number 19, Spring 2012).
