We are looking for academic essays that involve the theme of our inaugural issue: The State of Literature. Essays need to be between 1,500 and 4,000 words and double spaced.
The Istanbul Review creates a platform for dialogue between authors, new and established, and readers. It gives writers an opportunity to talk about their craft, showcase new work and discuss the philosophical implications of literature and its place in modern society.
We currently have contributions from Paulo Coelho, Elif Shafak, Gerhard Schroeder, Banana Yoshimoto,
Ngugi wa Thiong'o, and Terry Pratchett. The Istanbul Review will be published in November 2011.
