APUNTES, a peer--reviewed social science journal, edited by the Research Centre of the Universidad del Pacifico, wishes to invite all researchers to submit articles and reviews for its 71st publication devoted to the subject of “International Relations between China and Latin America”. The objective of this APUNTES number is to select articles centered on the following questions:
a) What are the implications of this growing interaction between China and Latin America in economic, social and/or environmental terms?
b) What are the political implications of Chinese investment in the region? What effects can it produce in the relations between Latin American countries and the United States of America and other nations in the Asia-Pacific region?
c) To what extent is the growth of Chinese investment in the region creating new cultural links or rediscovering old ones (colonies of Chinese immigrants) between Latin American countries and China?
d) How do the new commercial, political and cultural links between China and Latin America influence multilateral issues and/or create new alliances in international relations, for instance: China-Canada-Latin America, or China-Latin America-Europe?
The articles must have at least 8.000 words and must not exceed 10.000, excluding bibliography, the abstract and key words. The reviews must not exceed 1.200 words. For instructions authors should consult the journal’s website: http://www.up.edu.pe/revista_apuntes
Articles and reviews will be submitted in Word format (Font Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5) up to 20 April, 2012, at the following e-mail address: apuntes_editor@up.edu.pe. APUNTES is a peer reviewed journal, hence all submissions must go through this process, after which the authors will be informed if their collaborations will be published or not. Articles will be published in Spanish; however, submissions in English and Portuguese will be accepted and translated to Spanish once they have been approved for publication by the reviewing peers and the editorial committee.
