Between what can and what cannot be said runs a fine yet fluid line, a line we may come across when putting emotions into language. It is the region surrounding this line that we wish to explore in this graduate conference – the region between the speakable and the unspeakable. The interest of this first graduate student conference of Berlin's Cluster "Languages of Emotion" at Free University is in the way in which emotions inhabit and transgress this space, become sayable as well as unsayable.

Keynote lecture on October 13th by Louis A. Sass (Rutgers University). Organised by the Graduate School of the Cluster "Languages of Emotion".

The conference will be in German and English.
