RFP for Conference Presentations
The Peterborough Partnership on Immigrant Integration(PPCII) seeks speakers for our second ‘Together we Prosper’ Conference on November 17, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Peterborough,Ontario. The conference will explore issues related to immigrant integration and diversity. It is anticipated the conference will draw close to 200 attendees.
The PPCII is interested in the success stories, research findings, and case studies of other organizations and communities, and invites organizations, researchers, and individuals to submit paper or discussion abstracts on the topics below. Presentations should range from to 45 to 90 minutes and address one or more of the following areas of interest:
• The social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits of immigration
• Diversity and the creative economy
• Newcomer perspectives on best practices for immigrant integration
• Examples of employer best practices for recruiting Foreign Trained Professionals
• Tools to support immigrant integration
• Fostering local economic development through diversity
• What does successful immigrant integration look like?
• Challenges and contributions of young new Canadians
• Approaches to working with immigrants in the health/education/social services sectors
• Newcomer stories of success and adversity
• Policies and practices that foster diversity and inclusion
• Examples of immigrant integration best-practices

PPCII expectations for presenters:
♦ Meet all deadlines
♦ Present the session content as you describe it on the Speaker Proposal Form (changes MUST be approved by PPCII Conference Committee)
♦ Provide high-quality PowerPoint presentation or handouts by the date required (date to be announced upon acceptance as a speaker)
♦ Consent to posting your PowerPoint presentation or handouts on the PPCII web site following the conference
♦ Honor PPCII’s commitment to providing professional development by not promoting your practices, services, or products or soliciting business during your presentation
We thank you for submitting a presentation proposal. Because of anticipated high demand for
presentation slots, we expect to receive more proposals than we can accommodate. We expect to
notify you by October 21, 2011 only if you are invited to speak.
