The 2011 SIGCIS workshop on Computers, Information, and Society will be held on Nov. 6th, 2011, at the Society for the History of Technology Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
This year's keynote address, by Thomas Misa (director of the Charles Babbage Institute for the History of Computing) will be on "Designing and Using Cyberinfrastructure: Challenges and Opportunities for History." The theme of the workshop this year is "Cultures and Communities in the History of Computing" and topics include: disability and computing culture, the material culture of computing, sexual geographies of information networks, and computing as a political tool.
