ANZSANA will hold its annual conference at the Delta Chelsea located at 33 Gerard Street West in Toronto, ON. ANZSANA is a multidisciplinary organization and welcomes papers on any aspect of Australian or New Zealand studies as well as comparative studies involving Australia, New Zealand, and North America. It welcomes proposals for individual papers as well as proposals for panels by groups of scholars. ANZSANA welcomes submissions from graduate students and offers a limited number of travel grants to facilitate their participation. Graduate students must indicate their status as such in order to be considered for a grant.
The DEADLINE for submission of paper and panel proposals is 1 NOVEMBER 2011. Notices of acceptance will be sent no later than 1 December 2011. Paper proposals must include the author’s name and institutional affiliation, a curriculum vita (CV), the title of the paper, and an abstract of no more than 500 words. They must be attached to an email as either a Word or PDF document. Panel proposals should include similar information for each of the proposed papers. ANZSANA will meet simultaneously with the American Association of Australian Literary Studies (AAALS). Each Association will run a separate series of panels, and all panels will be open to attendees of both meetings. Shared events will include an evening reception on Thursday, February 16 and a formal banquet diner on Friday, February 17. The conference registration fee of $250.00 (either US or CD) includes a one-year ANZSANA membership, the reception, and lunch on Friday and Saturday. Participants are invited to attend the formal banquet dinner at an additional cost.
