Reminder: Now in its fourth year, AUMLAC invites panel and paper proposals on any aspect of Southern history from Civil War to Civil Rights, from dueling to NASCAR, from King Cotton to corn whiskey. This two-day conference includes a plenary presentation by Dr. Micki McElya (University of Connecticut)who will talk about her recent book, "Clinging to Mammy." Registrants to the conference will also be able to enjoy a variety of peer-reviewed panels and exhibits on southern topics representing all of the liberal arts disciplines. Proposals should include a 250-word abstract and a CV. They can be emailed to aumlac@aum.edu. The deadline is 1 November 2011.
