'UNDERSTANDING BRITAIN 2012: The First Annual British Studies Conference' will take place on 22-24 June 2012 at the Institute of Education, University of London. Please see www.understandingbritain.com for full details.
The Conference seeks to explore, analyse and critique the history, society and culture of Great Britain. Proposals for Paper and Panels are welcomed on a wide range of topics.
In the year of the London Olympics and the Diamond Jubileee 60th Anniversary celebrations of the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a wide range of Papers and Panels is invited around the central theme of 'A United Kingdom?'.
UNDERSTANDING BRITAIN 2012 runs in parallel with 'LONDONICITY 2012: The Second Annual London Studies Conference' (please see www.thelondonconference.com) and FILM AND MEDIA 2012: The Second Annual London International Film and Media Conference' (please see www.thelondonfilmandmediaconference.com).
A single registration admits to all three events. Deadline for proposals: 31 March 2012.
