On 24 November 2011, the Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry is hosting a day conference at St. Hugh's College, Oxford: "Academics, Consultants, Industrialists and Government Chemists:The History of Chemists’ Careers in England from 1880 to the 1970s." The meeting, which will be held in the Maplethorpe Seminar Room, will start at 1.40 pm, and will be preceded by the Society’s AGM at 1.15 pm. Speakers include Robin Mackie, Gerrylynn Roberts and Anna Simmons, Open University and UCL; Bill Brock, University of Leicester; Sally Horrocks, University of Leicester; and Viviane Quirke, Oxford Brookes University.
The Meeting Fee is £10 for SHAC members, £15 for non-members. Lunch is available at an additional cost of £10.50.
