Papers relating to Hafiz as well as Sufism in the 14th (ce) century.
Papers to be given at:
International Congress of Medieval Studies May 10-13, 2011 at WMU, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This is the second call for abstracts of papers concerning the great Persian poet HAFIZ as well as any topic relating to 14th c. SUFISM. Abstracts from all disciplines will be considered, including: Persian Studies; Islamic Studies; Ottoman Studies; Literature; Religious Studies-- medieval mysticism, Christian-Muslim-Jewish interfaith mystical or spiritual influences, etc.;History--medieval European, the rise and expansion of the Ottoman Empire and eaastern Europe/ central Asia,Persia in the 14th (ce) c., etc.; Islamic hagiography and saints' lives, and many other themes. Submissions should be no more than 500 words and should be sent as a Word doc attachment to either firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Please write in subject line "ICMS '12 submission." All submissions should be sent no later than Sept. 12, 2011.
