I would like to organize a panel for the Western History Conference (WHA), October 4-7, 2012, in Denver, Colorado. The panel will focus on the topics of space, place, and politics in the American West. My work explores how Native American communities (particularly a tribe in Oregon) navigate Western politics in order to cross political borders. I hope to find others who are studying Native or non-Native groups, politics and the concepts of space, place, and borders. The deadline for panel submissions is Sept. 1, 2011. Please contact me ASAP. If you have an idea even remotely related, I would love to hear from you!
