Interested faculty and students working on topics related to the political use, proliferation, meaning, genesis of national symbols are kindly invited to send a brief 200-300 word abstract to me by July 30 2011. Preferably topics related to Japan or including Japan as a case; other cases from East asia will also be considdered.

There is a possibility that our panel will receive funding but I do need to have your commitment plus abstracts as soon as possible.
