Now hiring authors to compose textbook modules for use by collegiate textbook publishers. Each module pays $500 and will become the sole property of CTP for use by our clients in the publishing industry.
Clients derive textbook chapters from these modules, with the goal of using nearly all of CTP's quality content in the final product. As a result, each textbook module needs to reflect the best and most recent scholarship, be engaging, accurate, and well-edited.
Each module covers a specific time period between 1492 and 1861. Each module must be completely original scholarship and cover the major themes of social, political, diplomatic, and military history where applicable. Writers should consult existing US history textbooks as a guide.
Modules should be between 20,000 and 25,000 words (about 40 pages)
Available modules include:
America Before 1492
America and the Atlantic World: 1492-1600
The Colonial North: 1600-1700
The Colonial South: 1600-1700
Growth of the American Colonies: 1700-1775
The Early Republic: 1783-1800
Expansion and World Affairs: 1800-1824
The Market Revolution and Jacksonian Democracy: 1824-1840
Please respond via email and provide a CV and a list of modules you are interested in writing. Payment will be made immediately upon submission of an acceptable textbook module that is of publishable quality. All professors, instructors and advanced graduate students are encouraged to respond.
