The Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era invites submissions for a planned special issue around the theme, “Women's and Gender History in Global Context.” Submissions are welcome from scholars based in the United States or in other countries. Any subject is welcome, so long as the manuscript in some way addresses the theme, focuses on the period covered by the journal, roughly 1870-1920, and has a U.S. component. Manuscripts may adopt a transnational perspective, view the United States from a comparative or international point of view, or focus on issues of empire. Manuscripts will be peer-reviewed, with final contents selected by a committee drawn from the journal’s editorial and executive board.
