IE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2012
Reinventing Architecture and Interiors: the past, the present and the future
A conference on the re-use and re-design of buildings in contemporary settings
Thursday 29th - Friday 30th March 2012
Ravensbourne, London.
The history of design has been a story of new ideas, theories and new construction. However, today, the developed world is on the cusp of change. Issues of finance, sustainability and conservation have led to increasing alterations of existing buildings.
The conference objective is to examine interior design and architectural re-use in this context. It will look at historical tendencies, current conditions and future possibilities.
It is diverse and inclusive. It encourages debate on professionalism, creativity, innovation and more. It welcomes case studies, theoretical texts and research projects of various kinds.
The theme of PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE offers the chance to look at the theme from the vantage point of time.
