This conference will explore the theme of food, diet and food problems in places suffering conflict in any geographic area of the world, regarding both the present day and the past. We aim for this event to be truly cross-disciplinary and hope that the theme will attract social, cultural, biological and nutritional anthropologists, historians, archaeologists, agriculturalists, sociologists, dietitians, representatives of aid agencies and others.
The conference will be open to the public, but please register in advance by sending an e-mail to r.vanbeek@mearc.eu with 'Registration: Food in Zones of Conflict' in the subject line.
Information about the conference, including the programme, can be found on www.mearc.eu/icaf.html
