Metropolitan Universities (http://muj.uc.iupui.edu/index.htm), a quarterly peer-reviewed journal, is soliciting article proposals for an upcoming issue that will examine the role of intercollegiate athletics in contributing to the educational mission of metropolitan universities. The journal is especially interested in research-based articles which address how intercollegiate athletics both add to and detract from the academic experience of commuters, part-time students, students of diverse language and cultural backgrounds, and first-generation students. The guest editor invites proposals for articles on applied research or theory, case histories/studies, and/or tutorials. Proposals should be 300-500 words in length (due 1/7/2012). Final manuscripts should be 4,000-7,000 words in length. Contact the guest editor, Roger Munger, for the complete CFP document.
