To those studying children and childhoods, the Exploring Childhood Studies listserve in The Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers University was started one year ago to maintain communication established at an international Childhood Studies conference hosted by our department. Since then, it has grown to nearly 1300 scholars and practitioners world wide studying childhoods in virtually every academic discipline and working with children all over the globe. We are very proud that our list has played some part in building an international community of Childhood Studies that entails Social Sciences, Humanities, academic research and hands-on practice. Providing a forum for dialogue and exchange of information across disciplinary boundaries has been our primary mission.
