How have recent innovations in life writing disrupted, reconstructed, and refigured nineteenth-century Anglo-American subjects? This panel will investigate emerging biographical genres that reinterpret the nineteenth century, including cultural biography, biofiction, and biodrama, as well as filmic, electronic, and new media representations that expand and problematize what constitutes ‘new’ biography in the twenty-first century. Send short cv and abstracts of 300-500 words to Paul Fisher at pfisher@wellesley.edu, by September 30, 2011.
