The Estonian Nyingma has pleasure to inform you that the
5th International ‘Buddhism and Nordland’ Conference
will be taken place on the 15th-17th September 2011 in Tallinn University.
The Conference acknowledges Buddhism in the Nordic countries, its’ history and knowledge involving Buddhism and notable people in its’ religious history.
The main subject of the Conference ‘Buddhism and Nordland 2011’ is ‘Historical Connections of Buddhism in the Nordic countries’
other possible topics may include:
* 5 years research into Northern European Buddhism ‘Buddhism and Nordland’ is the only Conference on European Buddhism.
* What to change in a project like the study of European Buddhism to which gave impetus to ‘Buddhism and Nordland’
* Is it worth arranging a separate field that researches the history
of Buddhism in Northern Europe, or would it be logical to organize
projects that would involve the entire of Europe.
* Buddhism in a broader sense of schools.
* Themes related to Buddhism such as architecture, art, literature, music,
and martial arts.
* Buddhist philosophy, psychology, and rituals.
* Western Buddhism and local cultures; contemporary Buddhism in Asia.
We are also soliciting paper proposals on any aspect of the Buddhist tradition.
The Conference will be English.
The time for paper presentation is 30 minutes.
