Please join the National Assessment Governing Board on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. EDT for a live webinar to release the results of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) U.S. History 2010, Grades, 4, 8, and 12. The 2010 Report Card will include the latest data on students’ knowledge of American history in the context of democracy, culture, technological and economic changes, and America’s changing world role.
Jack Buckley, commissioner of the National Center for Education Statistics, will present the data. He will be joined by expert panelists including Steven L. Paine, member, National Assessment Governing Board, and vice president of strategic planning and development, CTB/McGraw-Hill; Diane Ravitch, research professor of education, New York University, education historian, and senior fellow, Brookings Institution; and David Gordon, member, National Assessment Governing Board, and superintendent of schools, Sacramento County Office of Education (webinar moderator).
The 2010 results can be compared to results from 1994, 2001, and 2006, providing a trendline of student achievement in U.S. history over time. The results will include racial/ethnic and gender comparisons, as well as background data on other variables.
