Special Issue of Labour History: ‘Labour Women’s Leadership’, for publication in May 2013.
‘Leadership’ has attracted recent attention in the fields of management, sociology, and politics. It is also the subject of much public debate. But few existing studies of ‘leadership’ consider the relationship between ‘class’, ‘gender’, and ‘leadership’. Fewer still bring an historical consciousness to the changing relations between ‘leaders’ and ‘led’.
This Special Issue of the journal Labour History will grant the activity of labour women leaders greater historical prominence.
Titles of proposed papers and abstracts of no more than 200 words are invited and should be received no later than 1 September 2011. Preference will be given to papers that engage with contemporary theories of leadership.
Final papers of no more than 9,000 words including footnotes will be due on 1 January 2012 and will be sent out for peer-review. Those who submit an abstract will be automatically entitled to have their papers peer-reviewed.
Please send abstracts to Jackie Dickenson at jackied@unimelb.edu.au
