'Time! Time! Time! The pace of Change in Britain c.1780 to c.1870', a conference in honour of Boyd Hilton in association with the Cambridge Victorian Studies Group, at Trinity College, Cambridge, 7-8 July 2011
This conference is open for registration. Speakers will be taking part in panels on political history, religious history, the history of political economy, and the history of science. With an emphasis on the role of narrative and competing visions of history and time during the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, this event promises to be a thought-provoking inter-disciplinary re-examination of key aspects of British culture and politics.
Speakers will include Simon Schaffer, Gareth Stedman Jones, Pietro Corsi, Alison Winter, Jonathan Parry, Eugenio Biagini, and Anthony Howe.
