11th-13th July 2011
University of Sheffield, UK
When an author writes a literary text either wholly or partly in dialect he or she is making a conscious choice to represent something other than the standard language. This conference will present papers from across periods, genres, and places that address some of the issues that this process of dialect representation raises.
Our plenary speakers are Professor Lisa Minnick (Western Michigan University) and Professor Katie Wales (University of Nottingham). Please see the website for a full conference programme and registration information.
Registration will close on 24th June 2011.
