This panel seeks papers on V.S. Naipaul’s travel writing and/or criticism that extends the examination of Naipaul’s literary relationship to writers Charles Kingsley, James Anthony Froude, Anthony Trollope, and Joseph Conrad. Panelists might explore Naipaul and the imperial gaze; new perspectives on his views of colonialism and post-colonialism, migration, diaspora, slavery, and exile.
