"Reverberations" is a new interdisciplinary series of books from Reaktion about music and its relation to the times and places of its making.
The first books in the series will appear in 2011-12, and we we will be publishing on a very wide range of music-related subjects. In general, the series will feature three kinds of approach:
1) books that focus on the relationship between artists / performers and particular times and places
2) books that look at the affinity between music and place in particular cultures or national traditions
3) books that examine the way in which time and place has been idealized / mythologized in music, song and performance
