The Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipation at University of Hull is pleased to announce information about this years Alderman Sydney Smith Lecture.
This year's lecture is by Marcus Wood, Professor of English, University of Sussex. The title of his presentation is ‘Slavery, Time and the Art of Doing Nothing: Jean Baptiste Debret’s visual poetics of trauma’
The Public Lecture takes place on Wednesday 25 May 2011, 18:00, Wilberforce Building, Lecture theatre 15, University of Hull Campus.
All are welcome to attend.
