Call for Papers
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization Ten Years After 9/11
In the tenth anniversary of the attacks of 9/11 the organizers of the NATO panels aim to discuss a number of issues which have been central to the alliance over the last decade.
More specifically, contributions are invited around the following central themes:
* Alliance transformation and adaptation
* NATO's public diplomacy
* Strategy development with particular reference to the evolution of the strategic concept
* Afghanistan and burden-sharing
* NATO enlargements and relations with Russia
* Regional security with particular reference to the Middle East and the Arab world
* NATO's global partnerships
Any scholarly contribution to the above themes is welcome. Any topic not listed above but of major importance for the development and transformation of the Atlantic Alliance will also be welcome.
A selection of papers presented at the conference will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Transatlantic Studies and, possibly, as an edited collection.
Modest travel bursaries might also be available.
