papers in an edited book
Tentative Title:
Corporate Social Responsibility : A
social Agenda for India
Theme of
the book
The rapid
expansion of the corporate in the world due to the new economic policies of the
world is bound have profound impact on the various social and cultural
institutions of the world. Some of the corporate in the world have been
responsive to their responsibilities towards the society.
The author
however, feels that the piece-meal approach in the form of corporate
philanthropy can not solve the problems of the world. Neither can the forced
taxation compel the
companies to perform their social responsibilities.
There needs
to be an agenda for the future. The
companies need to understand the social structure and value system of the
countries where they operate. This will
help them be involved with the government and the civil society in uprooting
the social evils and transcending the redundant cultural practices of the host
countries.
The book will focus on the
a) Philosophical roots and theoretical perspectives on corporate social responsibility in India,
b) CSR and rural development in India
c) The CSR towards the marginalized sections of the society
d) The CSR towards the gender equality in india
e) The CSR and children
f) The CSR and tribal development in India
g) The CSR towards environmental issues
h) The CSR and human rights of the displaced persons
i) The corporate social responsibility in the education sector : assessment and challenges
j) The Corporate Social Responsibility and the health sector :Assessment and Challenges
k) Social auditing : its performance in case of India
l) Any social issues where the corporate are expected to participate or are performing significantly well
The manuscripts in the form of articles/papers of 3000- 5000 words are required to be submitted in soft copy in Times New Roman 12 font in 1.5 space preferably before 30th June, 2011. Each paper should carry with it an abstract in about 200-300 words alongwith some keywords
Each contributor should certify that the paper is not published earlier anywhere and is original writing.
