ROYAL DYNASTIES ABROAD: CONSTRUCTING CULTURAL IDENTITIES AT THE FOREIGN COURT, c.1450-c.1650.

Proposals are invited for papers addressing any aspect of the representation of royal public images within the foreign court. We especially welcome papers considering the formation, transmission and reception of alien national or dynastic identities abroad.
Topics for discussion may include but are not limited to:
• The education of royal children abroad
• Dynastic marriages (both projected and realized)
• State visits
• Accession to a foreign throne
• Royal exile
• Imprisonment and captivity
