[Update] Gaiman and Feminism Collection

The editors of a secured critical anthology are seeking articles of around 4,000-6,500 words (including endnotes and references) discussing the work of Neil Gaiman in any medium -- including the comics, films, novels, and stories -- and how he assesses, criticizes, valorizes, and revises expectations of feminism, the feminine, and the place and purpose of women in the genre narrative.
We're still searching for critical essays on the following works:
Sandman: The Dream Hunters
The Books of Magic
The Eternals
Marvel 1602
Violent Cases
The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Mr. Punch
Melinda
Fragile Things
Angels and Visitations
M is for Magic
Now We are Sick (Poems)
Odd and the Frost Giants
Blueberry Girl
Crazy Hair
The Dangerous Alphabet
The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish
Instructions
A Short Film About John Bolton
MirrorMask (screenplay)
Beowulf (screenplay)
Neverwhere (screenplay)
Gaiman's Episodes of Dr. Who and Babylon 5
We're also interested in papers that are more critical of Gaiman's approach. We're all fans, I think, and his work is often lauded in feminist circles. However, we also think there's room to question whether every experiment he's undertaken has succeeded.
We have received many excellent submissions on the Sandman series and Coraline, so please limit abstracts to works in the above list.

Final papers will be due 15 August 2011. Please note the submission of an essay does NOT necessarily mean publication in the volume. The editors are striving to put together as tight a collection as possible with many diverse viewpoints covering all aspects of Gaiman’s work as it addresses and problematizes contemporary notions of feminism.
Authors are also expected to follow MLA 7th edition style guidelines and be willing to have their work edited.
