Welcome to the International Theatre Workshop Series 2011, taught by acclaimed master instructors from Norway, Spain and Bulgaria.
International Theatre Lab is delighted to invite actors, performers, students and teachers of acting to partake in the International Summer Workshop Series at the Artistic Centre in Bjørke, Norway
"REinventing action"
July 7th - 21st 2011
“REinventing action” offers rigorous and playful hands-on training - combining exercises, improvisation, work with text and props, stage combat and more. The focus is on examining the infrastructure of body-mind connections in order to find a key to the mechanics of stage action; deconstructing, then reassembling them in different contexts with greater awareness. Special attention will be given to the sensory potential of the body as receiver, processor and responder, and its ability to communicate a story.
"Actor’s identity: the double belonging"
July 25th - August 8th 2011
The workshop is a hands-on experience with three master instructors of multicultural backgrounds, living and working in countries where the cultural majority is different from their origin. They will be exploring issues of identity and reality, expression and perception, universality and diversity. Each instructor will introduce participants to her/his methodology and aesthetics, then the three of them will work collaboratively on possible performance implementations of their cross-fertilized techniques.
