PANEL: Latin American Cinemas After the Year 2000. Cultural Studies 592
Convener: Carolina Rocha; Co-Covener: Cacilda Ręgo
We are especially interested in proposals which focus on:
*Co-production and transnational funding
*Casting of foreign stars in Latin American films
*Latin American films in international film festivals
*International productions that have influenced LA films post-2000
*Popular narratives in LA cinema
*LA films that have transcended national borders
*The question of national identity in a transnational era
*Use of popular cinematic genres
*Documentaries
Proposals are welcome to form part of a panel on Latin American cinema after the year 2000 for the 54 ICA 2012 in Vienna, Austria, July 15-20, 2012.
Proposals should be submitted online at http://ica2012.univie.ac.at/call-for-papers/ between 15 April and 31 August, 2011. The Organizing Committee will notify presenters during December 2011.
