MOVING THROUGH BODIES
A DISCUSSION WITH THREE MIDDLE EASTERN-AMERICAN ARTISTS
Thursday, April 21, 7-8:30 PM
721 Broadway, 6th Fl, Room 612
Performance Studies students Ali Kheradyar and Leila Tayeb are joined by choreographer and performer Makram Hamdan for a discussion about their artistic practices. Their discussion will focus on the ways in which gender and sexual identity both manifest and are negotiated in the embodied artistic border between their American and Middle-Eastern identities. The discussion is sponsored and organized by International Resource Network Middle East, a division of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies. Please visit the IRN Middle East’s website www.irnweb.org/en/regions/view/middle-east for more information about the organization and upcoming events focused on Middle Eastern scholarship.
Free and open to the public. Email gjs275@nyu.edu to RSVP if not a member of the NYU community.
