The Symposium Rationale
From the end of last century on, countries of the geographical axis, from Mediterranean to Central Asia, is experiencing major transformations in their political structure. This new governing structure of the region countries, through the end of transformation, will affect many aspects of relations among themselves, as well as with Turkey.
The countries of the region share the same historical depth and heritage shaped by similar dynamics.
Following the Ottoman period and passing through a colonial administration phase,
their either traditional monarchic or various forms of socialist regimes, the political, legal,
administrative and economic factors indicate that the transformation process triggered by the painful dynamics. For better understanding the social, cultural and political changes in this region requires an in-depth analysis on the dynamics and direction of governing structures in the region.
Confrontation of these countries with the change and transformation process bounds the region and share the commonness of their problems will ease the process of finding solution to these challenges. From this perspective, it will be sound to study these issues with a series of meetings in order to seek a solution.
The Symposium planned on this ground by Public Research Foundation and Istanbul Aydin University, and supported by Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
