The UWS Writing & Society Research Group presents an interdisciplinary symposium
at the NSW Teachers Federation Conference Centre in Surry Hills, Sydney (Meeting Room 3, enter at 23-33 Mary St).
Wednesday 27 April 2011,9am – 5.30pm
Speakers: Deborah Staines, Anna Gibbs, Magdalena Zolkos, Meera Atkinson, Michael Richardson, Tessa Lunney, Jennifer Biddle, Liz Day, Robyn Ferrell and more.
Trauma: Writing, Art & Affect widens the lens for examining the generation, transmission and representation of trauma beyond that of clinical analysis and traditional trauma theory to embrace both critical and creative perspectives. Papers, roundtable discussion and literary readings encompass a multi-faceted approach to trauma, from the familial to the political, from textual analysis to theories of affect.
Trauma: Writing, Art & Affect is a free event open to academics, students, creative and clinical practitioners and the public. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea provided. RSVP essential.
