Symposium “From the Ground Up: Agriculture and the Environment in History” May 7, 2011 Pomona, CA
Join us at the beautiful Kellogg House on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona for "From the Ground Up: Agriculture and the Environment in History" a one day academic symposium on Saturday May 7, 2011 from 8:30am-4:30pm.
Scholars Ken Pomeranz (UC Irvine); Doug Sackman (University of Puget Sound); Peggy Perry (Cal Poly Pomona); Kitty Connolly (The Huntington Library); and Sara Jordan (Sana Ana Unified School District) will be present to talk about the impact of environmental and agricultural history on their fields, and new directions in scholarship. Special attention will be given to how these fields can enrich teaching at the K-16 levels.
$10.00 includes registration and a buffet lunch.
There will also be a free opening reception at Kellogg House the evening of Friday May 6 from 6-8PM.
