ORAL HISTORY WORKSHOP, June 3-5, 2011, Moab, Utah:
Discover the past through personal narratives in an oral history workshop at the CFI Field Camp in the Colorado River Valley. Develop interviewing and listening skills, explore issues of reciprocity and collaboration between researcher and subject, discuss storylines and interpretation. Small group, relaxed setting, work directly with Dee Garceau, western historian and filmmaker, Rhodes College. If you have started a project, bring a meaningful sample of your recordings or transcripts that you’d like to address. If you are just beginning, be prepared to talk about the focus and direction of your proposed project. This is not a one-size fits all workshop. Instead, because it is small, we can tailor portions of it to fit your agenda.
