Call for Papers
“History, Protestantism and Identity in the Americas”

Call for papers: We invite scholars interested in the history of Protestantism in the Americas to propose full panels or individual papers that relate to the colloquium theme by May, 15 2011.
Panel topics might include, but are not limited to, the following:
History of Protestantism in the Americas
Religion and Identities in the Americas
Protestantism and the teaching of History
Protestantism and Education
Methodological Considerations in the study of Protestantism
Protestants in Social, Political and University Student Movements
The Americanization of Protestantism
Critical Issues in the Teaching of Inter-American or Pan-American themes
Proposals for papers should include the following information:
a) Description of the paper (No more than 500 words)
b) Paper title
c) Author name and affiliation institution
d) E-mail
e) May suggest the panel where to include the paper
Proposals and papers should be written in English or Spanish. The proposals will be submitted to an Academic Committee who will contact the authors about the acceptance/not acceptance of the paper.
If the paper is accepted please send it in extenso by August 15, so it may be included in the Proceedings of the Conference CD. Please send the paper in double space/New Roman/12pts.
There will not be a limit of words for the written version of the paper but each presenter will only have 20 minutes for his/her presentation in a panel. Please contact the organizers if you need a digital projector.
