CALL FOR PAPERS
The Community College of Baltimore County – Catonsville
First Annual Conference - “Doing Research and Teaching at the Community College”
September 23-25, 2011
The Community College of Baltimore County - Catonsville, located just outside of Baltimore, MD, is accepting both individual paper and panel proposals for its inaugural conference in September, 2011. In honor of the 150-year anniversary of the start of the Civil War and the 10th anniversary of September 11th, and the upcoming bicentennial of the War of 1812, this year’s theme is “Conflict, Memory, and Resolution.”
The conference is committed to providing a scholarly and supportive forum for community college historians. We welcome submissions from all community college historians, full-time and adjunct. While the main focus of the conference is research, we will also accept a limited number of papers and/or panel proposals focusing on pedagogy that relate to this year’s theme.
Scholars interested in participating in this conference should submit a 250-word proposal no later than June 1, 2011. Individual paper proposals should also include a 50-word biography with the proposal making sure to include academic or organizational affiliation. Panel proposals should include a proposed panel title and biographical information, including affiliation, for each presenter.
Conference organizers will contact all participants by July 1, 2011.
Please submit all materials to HistoryConf@ccbcmd.edu.
